Hong Chi Pinehill Integrated Vocational Training Centre
Founded in 1976, it was the first vocational training centre which provided residential service for young adults with intellectual disabilities. In 2003, the Centre developed into an Integrated Vocational Training Centre, offering full-day job training, supported employment service, job re-training service and sheltered employment service to the trainees.
The Centre provides vocational training in Hotel Housekeeping, Food Preparation & Catering Service, Bakery, Office General Duties, Food Packaging & Retail, Packaging Service, Gardening Service, Pottery and Foundational Work Skills.
Clients
People aged 15 or above with mild / moderate intellectual disabilities, and basic self-care and communication skills.
In 2012, the Centre set up a Course Advisory Group with representatives from JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong, the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong and School of Hotel & Tourism Management, CUHK and established a pioneer “Certificate in Hotel Room Attendant Training” which has now been recognized under the Qualification Framework as Level 1. Graduates of the course will be awarded with a Certificate in Hotel Room Attendant (QF 1), which is a solid proof of their work ability and enabling them to pursue career in the hotel industry.
Established in 1993, the studio supports trainees with intellectual disabilities to develop their artistic talents and pottery skills. The project also provides job opportunities for the trainees.
