[16 March 2026, Hong Kong, China] Hong Chi Association is honoured to collaborate with Art Basel Hong Kong for the third consecutive year. For the first time as Art Basel Hong Kong’s Cultural Partner, Hong Chi proudly presents Whispers of Form, on view at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 27 to 29, 2026.

Every line drawn in ink carries both fragility and permanence. Presented as an immersive, interactive booth space reminiscent of Hong Chi homes in the 1960s, Whispers of Form showcases a collection of hand-drawn sketches featuring trees, houses, cars, and people that together tell life’s stories and human presence.

Created by Hong Chi artists with intellectual disabilities under the mentorship of acclaimed Hong Kong artist Stephen Wong Chun-hei, these intricate works reveal how ink becomes a voice of subtle strength.

The sketches depict the landscape surrounding Pinehill Village, home to Hong Chi Association. They portray heritage houses and native trees, many of which are steeped in memory and history. Through these subjects, the exhibition reminds us that art is intertwined with the fabric of everyday life: trees whisper of rootedness, houses of belonging, cars of journeys, and people of identity.

This year’s exhibition, inspired by Pinehill’s heritage stone bungalow, captures memories and scenes spanning six decades. Visitors will step inside Hong Chi children’s home and, through the artworks, glimpse the Pinehill scenery beyond. In addition, Hong Chi artists will engage with visitors in co-creation activities, stamping their artworks onto postcards as meaningful souvenirs, encouraging reflection on the stories behind each piece.

Hong Chi Association is delighted to continue this journey with Art Basel Hong Kong. We warmly invite the public to visit and join our Exchange Circle sharing session, where Stephen Wong Chun-hei and Hong Chi artists will speak about connecting students and trainees through nature.
