Hong Chi Association Launches Inclusive Art Exhibition
Colours of Community: Art in Motion
An exhibition exploring themes of movement and memory
Supported by Christie’s
[4 December 2025, HONG KONG, CHINA] This December, Hong Chi Association will partner for the first time with world-leading art and luxury auction house Christie’s to present Colours of Community: Art in Motion, an exhibition showcasing over 40 original works created by Hong Chi students and trainees. The exhibition will run from December 9 to 12, 2025, at Christie’s Asia Pacific headquarters at The Henderson.
Selected artworks will be available for public sale, marking a significant milestone as the first selling exhibition dedicated to artists with intellectual disabilities. Presented in a world-class gallery space, this represents a vital advancement in the promotion of inclusive art and fosters greater visibility for these talented individuals.
Centred around the themes of movement and memory, the exhibition traverses cultural landmarks in Hong Kong, journeying from Hong Chi home bases across Victoria Harbour, venturing under and over ground to the West Kowloon Cultural District, before immersing into the quintessential culture of Hong Kong. Each artwork on display is a testament to the unique perspectives and experiences of individuals with intellectual disabilities, showcasing their talents and the beauty of diversity within our community.
Featuring a wide range of media from ceramics to digital illustration and installations - each artwork captures the moments of joy and hope shared by the community. The lens through which these remarkable artists view our city often reveal tiny, overlooked details, unveiling the dynamic expressions that together make up our society.

The Scar Under the Feather, 2025, Mixed Media
Collaborative artwork by Form 5 students, Hong Chi Morningjoy School, Yuen Long
Among the featured works is The Scar Under the Feather, a collaborative art piece hand crafted by Form 5 students at Hong Chi Morningjoy School, Yuen Long. Using exaggerated visual language, a sculpted goose is portrayed as suffering from humanity’s excessive reliance on down products—stripped of its feathers and clad in plastic bags. The artwork serves as a stark metaphor for environmental degradation and ecological imbalance, urging us to adopt sustainable materials and show greater compassion toward animals.
Mr. Edward Yau, GBS, JP, Chairman of Hong Chi Association, celebrated, “This exhibition is a significant milestone for Hong Chi artists, marking the first time their works are available for public sale since the establishment of Hong Chi Sports and Arts Academy. We invite the community to come together, to not only celebrate and appreciate diversity in creativity, but to embrace these talented artists’ journeys toward independence. Through ongoing public exhibitions and meaningful engagements, we can affirm that every artwork contributes to a larger narrative of hope and possibility. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Christie’s, whose platform shines a spotlight on inclusive art, proving that every voice deserves to be heard, and shaping Hong Kong’s art ecosystem for a better tomorrow.”
Mr. Jonathan Stone, Senior Advisor, Asia Pacific and Asian Art of Christie’s added, “Christie’s is committed to fostering and supporting experiences across the art world, which are equitable, diverse and inclusive. As a global business leader, we see it as our responsibility to amplify underrepresented voices and we are honoured to collaborate with Hong Chi Association on this landmark initiative, bringing works of art by artists with intellectual disabilities to a wider community and creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue, appreciation and inclusion. This partnership reflects our shared belief that art can unite communities and celebrate diversity.”
The exhibition is free of charge and open to the public. Hong Chi Association warmly invites the public to visit the exhibition and experience firsthand the creativity and vitality of these remarkable artists. Together, let us honour the colours of community – vibrant, diverse and ever-evolving.
