Job Training and Employment Services

It provides pre-employment training, on-the-job supervision and supportive services for adults with intellectual disabilities, and assists them in seeking open employment.

Region:

Glass Bottle Recycling Campaign

With funding support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and professional advice of the Environmental Protection Department, this territory-wide Campaign, commenced in 2010, is to promote and practise environmental conservation for a greener Hong Kong. Hong Chi trainees have been deployed to collect used glass bottles from residential and commercial sectors. This Campaign enables more trainees receive training and employment opportunities and ultimately showcasing their abilities and enhancing social integration.

People with mild intellectual disabilities who are aged 15 or above.

Hong Chi Job Training & Employment Service

Set up in 1990, it provides pre-employment training, on-the-job supervision and supportive services for adults with intellectual disabilities, and assists them in seeking open employment.

Clients

People with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities who are aged 15 or above with adequate self-care skills and motivation to take up open employment.

Capacity: 90

Application

Applicants can contact the Project directly, or they can submit application through the Social Welfare Department or other NGOs. Completed application form (CRSRehab SE Form1) together with applicant’s assessment report should be submitted to the Projects for further processing.

Hong Chi On-th-Job Training Programme

This was started in 2001 to serve people aged above 15 with learning difficulties, intellectual disabilities, autism, dysphasia, ex-mental illness, visual or hearing impairments, physical handicap and chronic illness. The programme aims to increase their ability to work and assist them to overcome barriers at work. Job attachment, job matching and on-the-job follow up services are provided. Wage subsidy is provided to encourage employers to offer job opportunities to the trainees.

People with mild intellectual disabilities who are aged 15 or above.

Hong Chi Place

A retail shop providing on-site training for trainees with intellectual disabilities in product packaging, shop cleaning, leaflet distribution and stock keeping.

Clients

Trainees from The Jockey Club Hong Chi Siu Sai Wan Workshop or Supported Employment Services.

Hong Chi Sunnyway Training Programme

This was started in 2005 to serve people aged between 15 and 29 with learning difficulties, mild intellectual disabilities and/or early signs of mental illness, as well as visual or hearing impairments. The programme aims to increase their ability to work and assist them to overcome barriers at work. Wage subsidy is provided to encourage employers to offer jop opportunities to the trainees.

Hong Chi Super Service Team

The team was established in 1994 with crew members who are adults with intellectual disabilities. With training and supervision, trainees are contracted to perform tasks such as cleaning, gardening and car washing, developing their full potential and preparing them for independent living.

People with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities who are aged 15 or above.
