Social Enterprise

Hong Chi Social Enterprise Office is dedicated to provide training opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities under various self-finance social enterprise projects since 1999. With the on-job training in these real business settings, trainees can explore their own interests, establish self-value and enhance their competiveness in the society. The general public can also interact with our trainees and thereby have a better understanding of their work abilities ultimately promote their chance of open employment.

Coached by our experienced trainers, our trainees proudly present various products and services to the public including bakery products, organic vegetables, catering, retailing service, training hotel and workshop etc. All revenue generated will be reinvested into the business to achieve sustainable development of social enterprise projects and foster social integration.

Established in 2004, hc:Kitchen is a licensed food factory operated by our well-trained trainees under supervision of experienced chef. It produces Chinese and Western cuisines for café and coffee corners under Hong Chi Social Enterprise Office every day. It also provides lunch boxes and outside catering services for schools and corporate.

Commenced in 2009, hc:Bakery is a licensed food factory operated by our well-trained trainees under supervision of experienced chef. Apart from standard packed cookies, hc:Bakery also well-known in making of wedding cookies and customized cookies for customers. Through our various baking workshops, interested parties can learn more about the talent and ability of people with intellectual disabilities.

With the support from the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, hc:Café @ Sience Park has been set up at Hong Kong Science Park’s club house in 2009. It aims to provide catering training for our trainees while offering healthy and delicious set menu, sandwiches, beverage, salads and homemade bakery products to the club house members in a relaxing environment.

In partnership with L’Oreal Hong Kong, the coffee corner has been set up at L’Oreal Hong Kong’s office since 2011. The corner aims to provide catering training to our trainees at an actual working environment while offering healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch sets, sandwiches, salads and homemade bakery products to the staff in the office.

hc:Farm

With the support from Hong Kong Community Chest and the Hongkong Bank Foundation, trainees get the opportunities to learn gardening and organic farming skills under the guidance of experienced trainer in hc:Farm. Varieties of organic herbs and vegetables grown in the farm are certified by Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre. Organic workshop assisted by trainees introducing different kind of herbs and herb planting skills to the public. Trainees will also perform gardening service in rooftop garden for different corporates.

The Jockey Club Hong Chi Lodge cum Hong Chi Jockey Club Conference Hall

With the generous support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charity Trust, the first housekeeping training facility for people with intellectual disabilities, The Jockey Club Hong Chi Lodge was launched in 2008. By 2015, further support from the Trust was granted for the establishment of Hong Chi Jockey Club Conference hall which providing an ideal venue for providing arts training to people with intellectual disabilities.

Office Support Service

Supported by FWD Hong Kong, the Office Support Service Team has been set up since 2014 at its office in Quarry Bay, providing a real-life setting for trainees with intellectual disabilities to further strengthen their work skills in office administration, as well as to well-equipped themselves to integrated into the society in the future.

Pine Gallery

Funded by Home Affairs Department’s “Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Program”, Pine Gallery is set up in 2015, with aims to promote pottery products made by people with intellectual disabilities and inclusive art to the public. Pine Gallery offers quality and customized handcrafted pottery products and pottery workshop. Participants can interact with our experienced apprentices with intellectual disabilities during the workshop which showcase their working abilities and passion towards arts.

Hong Chi Jockey Club Arts Studio

Sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Hong Chi Jockey Club Arts Studio was established in 2015 aiming at providing variety of arts training such as pottery, music, dance and visual arts to people with intellectual disabilities to nurture their artistic talents and their creativity. Periodical arts exhibition or performance will also be launched to showcase their talent in arts and to foster art inclusion.
