How the event works

Enrol for Online Hong Chi Climbathon

Complete the activity anytime, anywhere

  • All participants can complete the activity anytime, anywhere during the designated period, i.e. between 14/11/2022 (12:00am GMT+08) and 31/1/2023 (11:59pm GMT+08).
  • Participants of “Climb The Stairs” can complete the step goal by running, climbing stairs, strolling, hiking, etc.
  • Participants of “Step Up Challenge” will be notified by email individually for collecting the pedometers.

Submit step record

Climb The Stairs

  • Please submit proof of step records of any 5 given days within the activity period.
  • Participants can use any types of step counter apps to track their steps. Here are some common apps you may use:
  • Screenshot of step record must clearly show the date and no. of steps, e.g.:
  • If you would like to track your steps of stair climbing, you may make use of stair climbers and stair steppers in the fitness centres or at your home.
  • Screenshot of step record must be submitted via the event’s Google Form. Participants can refer to their enrolment confirmation email for the link of the Google Form.
  • Submission deadline of step record: 31/1/2023 (11:59pm GMT+08)

Step Up Challenge

  • Each participant/team member will receive a pedometer and be given 1 minute to step in place. They should film the entire process of the in-place stepping, and show the step count on the pedometer clearly in front of the camera before starting and after finishing the challenge. Editing of video is not allowed.
  • Please submit the challenge video to cfr@hongchi.org.hk. Please note that Hong Chi Association may upload the video(s) to its Facebook / Instagram / website / YouTube channel for promotion and publicity purpose.
  • Submission deadline of “Step Up Challenge” video: 31/1/2023 (11:59pm GMT+08)

Submit additional donations

  • To compete for the ”Top Fund Raiser Award”, please deposit your additional donations to the following bank accounts of Hong Chi Association and send the copy of bank-in slip to cfr@hongchi.org.hk on or before 31/1/2023 (11:59pm GMT+08) .

  • Donation receipts will be issued for donations of HK$100 or above. The enrolment fee is not eligible for donation receipt.
  • If more than one sponsors require receipt, please fill in Sponsorship Form.
  • Submission deadline of additional donations and sponsorship form: 31/1/2023 (11:59pm GMT+08)

Receive fabulous gifts

  • All participants will receive medal of participation and souvenir pack. Within 20 to 30 working days after the event, participants will receive email updates about the arrangement of souvenir collection (self pick-up) or delivery status of gifts to their registered address (delivery by SF Express).
  • E-certificates (certificate of participation / certificate of completion) will be sent out by email after the event.
  • The top 3 awards of “Step Up Challenge”, “Top Fund Raiser Award”, “Most Active Participation Award”, “Dare to Challenge Award” and “Full of Fun Award” will be presented at the Hong Chi Climbathon Fun Day, which is tentatively scheduled to be held on 18 February 2023 at Central Plaza, Wan Chai.

Rules and regulations

  • There is no restriction on age, gender or geographic location of participants.
  • Participants must read the event rules and regulations carefully. Once the enrolment is submitted, participant is deemed to have accepted all of the terms and conditions of the event made and subsequently raised by Hong Chi Association.
  • All the information provided by a participant in the enrolment form must be true and accurate. The personal information collected will only be used for receipt issuance and necessary communications purposes. It will be treated as strictly confidential.
  • Once the enrolment is made, all participants are not entitled to refund, and will not be allowed to change the event category or transfer their entry quota to others.
  • Donations and enrolment fee are non-refundable. Tax-deductible donation receipts will be issued within two months after the event. The enrolment fee is not eligible for donation receipt. 
  • Participation in the event is voluntary and at the own risk of participants. If participants have any doubts on their physical conditions, they are suggested to consult medical advice from their doctors. Participants should immediately discontinue their activity if they feel unwell during the event.
  • Hong Chi Association reserves the right to void any step record that is found to be fraudulent or untrue.
  • Hong Chi Association reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions without further notice. Should there be any disputes, the Association's decision is final and conclusive.

Anti-epidemic measures

  • Please maintain good personal hygiene and wear mask during the activity.
  • Please avoid carrying out the activity in crowded places. Participants are advised to maintain an appropriate social distance with others throughout the activity.
  • If the activity has to be taken place in public places, please pay attention and strictly adhere to the latest social distancing regulations published by the Government.
